Detailed Itinerary of the 15 Days Self-drive Uganda Tour
Each of the day starts with a breakfast, lunch and dinner for the meal course.
Day 1: Arrive in Uganda via Entebbe International Airport
Upon reaching Entebbe airport our driver to drop your car will be ready to let you have your car
rental and proceed for the rest of the trip. Then will transfer to your hotel in Kampala and take a
rest until next day to start on your journey. Have dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: Drive to Mabamba Swamp and Transfer to Lake Mburo
This morning will drive to Mabamba swamp for bird watching. On this trip have a boat ride to
search for the rare shoe bill stock within the swamp. Mabamba is a very reknown bird watching
destination around Kampala. After the bird watching then will take a drive to Lake Mburo
National Park with a lunch en-route at the Equator. Reaching the park in the evening hours will
check-in at your lodge. Will take a night game drive on torches which starts at pm, this
incredible night game drive gives an opportunity to watch predators actively hunting. Then
return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Horse riding and Boat ride
Start this morning with an incredible horse ride through the park’s savannahs. The rides are
launched from Mihingo lodge taking you into the adventure hub to fetch wild encounters in a
close range. The absence of elephant in the parks it very easy to do a horse ride with a
guaranteed safety. A horse ride takes several trials and the hours to spend in the wilderness
depends on the guest’s selection.
Consider an afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo the Larges Lake in the park. The boat ride thrills
comes with sceneries of cliffs, hills, various vegetation harboring various wildlife species
including crocodiles, hippos among others. Then will return to your lodge for dinner and
overnight.

Day 4: Game drive and Transfer to Bwindi
This morning will take a morning game drive through various tracks watching variety of animals
moving to their grazing zones. Herds of buffalos, impalas, elands, Uganda Kobs among other
species. After will just continue with the drive through Mbarara city to Bwindi Impenetrable
National Park. With Lunch in-route will reach the park in the evening hours, enter the park using
Nkuringo gate at the extreme end of the park southwards and check-in to your lodge for dinner
and overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking
This day early morning rush to Nkuringo trekking starting point reaching here before 7:30am for
the briefing. Then trekkers will be grouped in 8 individuals per group assigned to an armed and
then roll into impenetrable rolling landscape hiking through the inflatable thick terrain of the
forest. Remember to wear long pants, jungle boots, carry at least 1 litter of drinking water and
rain proof gears.
Trekking may take 30 minutes to 6 hours, walking and searching for the
endangered giants. Gorilla are followed considering where they had their previous night, and
meeting them, trekkers have an hour before them. Watching gorillas is one of the few
mesmerizing moments in the wild, looking face to face with the silverback you realized these are
really human closest relatives.

Day 6: Batwa community visit and Visit Lake Mutanda
Cruise through your 4×4 safari car rental to the Batwa community at the outskirts. The
community is a learning center for all about these people known as the forest pygmies who
once co-lived in the forests with the gorillas. However, following their forced evictions by early
1990s, today these people decide to organize stories and traditional performances in songs and
dances to earn a living in such a way. Then will continue to Lake Mutanda and take a boat ride
to the lake. Drive to check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Golden Monkey Tracking and Nature Walks
Today is a special day to enroll into the jungle, following your energizing breakfast, will hurry to
go and track the endangered golden monkeys. The golden monkeys are only endemic to
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. The beautiful and nice looking golden monkeys live
in communities of over 30 individuals and more. These monkeys are habituated meaning
tracker can have that close-up moment. The track in volcanic forests of Mgahinga can last for
about 30 minutes to 3 hours and when found the brownish monkeys you have an hour in their
presence.
So, after the track refresh with lunch-route and in the afternoon hours will take a simple nature
walk looking for birds, trees, and several species which reside in the forest. The nature walk
goes around under the lead of an armed ranger guide. After the forest nature walk, return to
your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Sabinyo Volcanic Hiking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Today will en-roll to hike this amazing Mt. Sabinyo alongside experienced ranger guide who will
be leading you. Trekking mount Sabinyo can last for about 7 hours to and from, it’s the most
famous trekked volcano in the Virunga Massif.
The trek covers about 8hrs taking a distance of
about 14kkm, and reaching at the peak you then stand at 3669m above sea level. The trek goes
through hikes and slope via hills and valleys until reaching the peak. Reaching the peak of you
realize that you’re standing at the border of three countries Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo.
Afterwards will seat in your 4×4 safari vehicle exhaustively and drive to Lake Bunyonyi at your
lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Enjoy a relaxed moment at Lake Bunyonyi
This morning take a drive to the gorgeous historical Lake Bunyonyi, this is known to be the
Africa’s 2 nd deepest lake. The beauty of the lake is endowed into the jewelry with a simple and
unique landscape view. Reaching at the lake you will take a boat ride to one of the islands.
Then will check-in at your lodge and relax under the melodies of many small birds like the name
suggests. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 10: Transfer to Ishasha and Track Tree Climbing Lions
This morning transfer to Ishasha sector Queen Elizabeth National Park, will take an afternoon
game drive while tracking the possibility of watching the big five. The Ishasha sector in famous
for hosting the amazing prides who always finds easy to have a warm day spend under tree
branches. The tracking is accompanied by the wider view of wildlife. Then, will drive to your
lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Game Drive and Boat cruise
Today early morning drive to Kasenyi section of Queen Elizabeth National Park for an incredible
game drive. It very rewarding with variety of wildlife species including; elephants, Uganda kobs,
bushbucks, buffalos, lions, warthogs among so many species to watch accompanied by several
bird species.
Then, will as well consider an afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga channel on the famous Mweya
peninsula. The wild boat cruise is an opening of watching more animals where several animals
are seen coming to the channel banks to draw water and the aquatic life seen either socked in
water or lousily relaxed at water banks. Then, after will drive back to your lodge for dinner and
overnight.

Day 12: Visit Kyambura to Track Chimpanzees
Today will take a morning drive Kyambura gorge east of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The
gorge is a tropic depression within the rift valley. The gorge is known for chimpanzee tracking
and bird watching. Here you will take a guided walk through the forests of Kyambura and as well
will track chimpanzees here. Afterwards with lunch en-route will take a drive to Ishasha sector,
then will take the afternoon hours to track these amazing pride. The tree climbing lions remain
special for Ishasha in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Take sometimes of relax off alongside
your lunch-en-route and later transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Mongoose and Lion Tracking
Today do experiential tourism which is a unique adventure only experienced at Queen Elizabeth
National Park. Experiential adventures means, with an experienced ranger guide you will roll
into the jungle with an intension of purposely tracking lions and mongoose. The adventure is
done on radio trackers which indicate where lions are at the moment, then you drive there. It’s
rarely a greater moment and nothing can be compared to this adventure. Then will return to
your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Transfer back to Kampala
This day take a late morning drive back to Kampala with lunch en-route in Mbarara at Igongo
cultural center. Also consider a stopover at the Equator for photography. You will reach in

Day 15: Kampala City Tour and Drive Entebbe International Airport to Fly back
This morning enjoy the visual scenery of Kampala exploring certain destinations and sites.
These notable sites to visits are Mengo palace and Bulange building. These are two significant
building in the history of Buganda, Mengo palace is the official palace of the Kingdom and
Bulange is the administrative block of Buganda kingdom.
Afterward, you can drive and drop the car rental at your designated spot which can be our
office, your lodge or Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
